Base Rules
- All (non-Saar) SD/BS/SB must be attached to a controlled planet if possible, one per planet.
- Movement- BS/SB are considered ships with a maximum or adjusted movement of 1. They may not retreat or withdraw, the rest of the fleet may.
- Combat- They may not participate in combat if they are the active player (attacker), if the fleet is defeated or retreats the base is destroyed.
- Production- BS & SB have zero production capacity after they move or upgrade. All (non-Saar) BS/SB have a maximum Production Capacity of 2 when not attached to a controlled planet. Planetary units built in systems containing unattached BS & SB may be placed on any controlled planet in the system, or directly on a ship.
- Upgrading- BS & SB may not be built (they upgrade during the Produce Units Step and may not produce units at that time); BS are upgraded from and replace a SD, SB are upgraded from and replace a BS. They have no production capacity and movement in a round they've upgraded. Scientists provide 2 resource discount when upgrading.
- Saar Race Tech Change- Floating Bases (Cost +4) Your SD/BS/SB have +1 movement and may build (at -2 Production Capacity) in the same activation in which they move.
Tweaks
- WS- Dice: 3d10, Sustain Damage: 2
- DN- Dice: 2d10, Sustain Damage: 1
- Any unit using the ‘Sustain Damage’ ability immediately loses one Combat die, to a minimum of 1.

FAQ
- Q: If I have a Battle Station or Star Base attached to a planet, can that planet still build a Space Dock?
A: Yes. The Battle Station or Star Base become unattached and the Space Dock builds at the planet.
- Q: Can I upgrade a Spacedock and in the same activation build a Spacedock on that planet as the other unit unattaches?
A: No. When producing units all of a player’s units are produced simultaneously.
- Q: Can a Battle Station or Star Base be captured?
A: No. BS and SB are considered ships, as such they can not be captured- as to conduct a planetary landing and Invasion Combat you must destroy all opponents ships in Space Battle, therefore the BS or SB will have been destroyed prior to Invasion Combat.
- Q: Does a Battle Station or Star Base count as a Space Dock?
A: Except for AC and PC, yes.
- Q: Does a Scientist give a 2 resource discount when upgrading to a Battle Station or Star Base?
A: Yes. 1 or more Scientists provide a 2 resource discount when upgrading to a BS or SB.
